Superfrico Turned Five. The Artwork Got Loose. On Wednesday, October 28, Superfrico celebrated five years of making dinner delightfully difficult to explain. Our Italian-American-Psychedelic restaurant-slash-house party at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas marked the occasion with penguin couture, culinary excess, and a breathtaking art unveiling. A quiet anniversary dinner? C’mon. You know us better than that. Please don’t feed the artwork. The evening’s centerpiece required a little ceremony, a lot of imagination and exactly one Australian one-dollar coin. Artist Mark Ogge’s recently restored Circus Automaton, a much-loved but rarely seen treasure from Spiegelworld’s collection of curious objects, officially found its permanent home in The Blue Room. It’s excellent company for THE PARTY, our dinner-show that brings its own beautiful absurdity to the room five nights a week. Spiegelworld founder and Impresario Extraordinaire Ross Mollison joined Mark Lefever, General Manager of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, to insert the coin and bring the miniature world to life. For five minutes, the mechanical circus unfolded with its own music, lighting and hundreds of moving parts. In a world of AI-generated amusements, here was something gloriously analogue: human artistry, imagination and ingenuity, doing their thing without a prompt in sight. There’s something rather wonderful about watching an object come alive because somebody dreamed it up, made it and cared enough to bring it back. Especially when that object happens to be a circus. Later, a lion tamer, a strongman, and a bearded lady escaped the artwork and infiltrated the festivities. Because why admire the party from inside a mechanical theatre when you could join it? We do like our art to mingle. P.S. Belated birthday wishes are best delivered in person, preferably over pizza. And cocktails. (Then, dessert.) Book your reservation The Photos View Full Album
